July 19, 2016 (STATELINE, Nev.) — After 20 years together as a band, Drive-By Truckers’ newest album is their most progressive, powerful and political yet. In support of that album, the alternative country southern rock band will bring their socially-conscious music to the MontBleu Showroom on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Tickets are on sale now.
The Drive-By Truckers band was founded in 1996 by singer/songwriter/guitarists Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood. They are joined by bassist Matt Patton, keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist Jay Gonzalez, and drummer Brad Morgan. Together, this lineup is the longest-lasting iteration in the band’s two-decade history.
American Band, due out September 30, 2016 from ATO Records, promises to be the band’s most advertently politically-minded record to date, one “steeped in this moment of history that we’re all trying to live through.” The album’s 11 tracks explore such pressing issues as race, income inequality, the NRA, deregulation, police brutality, Islamophobia, and the plague of suicides and opioid abuse.
Tickets to see Drive-By Truckers at MontBleu are $35 and $45, plus tax and fees. For information on lodging packages, events, activities, accommodations, ticket sales and showroom entertainment, call 1-800-BE-LUCKY or visit www.montbleuresort.com.
