CLASSIC POWER GROUP STYX TO BRING ‘RENEGADE’ BRIGADE TO TAHOE’S MONTBLEU OCT. 18
For Immediate ReleaseWed, Oct 15, 2014
Iconic 70’s and 80’s heavyweight and power ballad rockers Styx, known for their hard driving anthems like “Come Sail Away” “Fooling Yourself” “Renegade” and “Best of Times” will appear in concert Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at Lake Tahoe’s MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa.
Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ‘70s, Styx helped pioneer the era known as arena rock, with high decibel shows, elaborate stage sets and non-stop international tours that packed sports stadiums from coast to coast. During its peak, Styx generated four consecutive albums that were certified multi-platinum: The Grand Illusion (1977), Pieces of Eight (1978), Cornerstone (1978) and Paradise Theater (1981).
Reserved seating tickets go on sale June 14 at $55.50, $65.50 and $75.50, plus a $3 facility fee, and are available through Ticketmaster.com or by calling the MontBleu Box Office at (888) 829-7630 for the 9 p.m. show. Tickets are expected to sell out fast.
With its biggest hits continually aired on internet, satellite and FM classic rock radio stations, Styx maintains a solid fan base with a tremendous generational crossover thanks in part to its music heard in blockbuster Hollywood movies, most recently in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” and guest appearances on the “Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
